the first half of the course

both for ordinary (two lectures)
and partial differential equations (two lectures)

consists of two lectures of three hours each.
all lectures are on thursday, 14:45-17:30;
the third hour is devoted to a hands-on session
on the homework.

week 17 : a singularly perturbed ode problem: (small) mass - spring - damping
please study §2.1-2.2 & the entire §3;
hand in, as homework, problems 2-3 of homework set #2 (from the same set of notes).
week 18 : strained coordinates & the mutiscale method
please study the entire §6;
hand in, as homework, homework set #3 (from the same set of notes).
week 19 : a singuarly perturbed elliptic problem
please study the entire §8;
hand in, as homework, the homework set following that section.
