ABOUT ME
As of February 2011 I can be found at the Web Information Systems group @ Delft University of Technology.
Until the end of 2010, I worked as a Postdoc at the Human Media Interaction group of the University of Twente. In October 2005, I had joined the group as a PhD student with Franciska de Jong and Djoerd Hiemstra as supervisors.
My PhD thesis focused on query performance prediction. As a Postdoc, I conducted research in the area of interactive IR for special user groups such as children.

At the end of January 2010 the defense of my PhD thesis, entitled Predicting the Effectiveness of Queries and Retrieval Systems [mirror 1, mirror 2, abstract, SIGIR Forum entry], took place.
