Various university sites now feature "expert finding and profiling" portal, where one can look for experts or a given topic, or for expertise areas associated with a given person. Data crawled from such sites provides valuable evaluation resources, especially for expert profiling, as I will explain in the talk. In the talk I will also report on recent work aimed at automatically updating profiling and on a recent pilot where an expert finding and profiling portal has been generated from scratch.
This is based on joint work with Leif Azzopardi, Krisztian Balog, Toine Bogers, Wouter Bolsterlee, Antal van den Bosch and Katja Hofmann.
