The International Statistical Institute, ISI,
resides at the CBS in Voorburg (the Hague)
and gathers its members biannually
for a world conference. The 39th [1973] and 40th [1975] conferences were held in Vienna and Warsaw, respectively. In 1853 Quetelet organized the first international statistical congress ever.
