This course presents basic methods and techniques for Real-Time Systems.
Topics include: fundamentals of scheduling principles; scheduling algorithms such as Rate Monotonic, Deadline Monotonic and Earliest Deadline First; feasibility analyses, static and dynamic priority servers, resource sharing protocols and inheritance techniques. These topics will be explained in the context of typical multimedia audio, video and networking applications as well as in embedded control such as the successful Boeing 747, or the less successful Mars Surveyor and Ariane 5.
