Olga Kulyk, MSc.
I am a researcher at the
Human Media Interaction Group,
University of Twente, The Netherlands. Currently I am working on the evaluation of presence
support in distant collaboration within
AMIDA project.
I have recently completed my PhD research within Bsik project
BioRange on the situational awareness support
to enhance co-located teams in
multidisplay environment. BioRange is a research activity of the
Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC).
My supervisors are prof.dr.ir.
Anton Nijholt, dr. Betsy van Dijk (
University of Twente),
and prof.dr.
Gerrit van der Veer
(
Open University of Netherlands). We were woking in close collaboration with the
MicroArray Department /
Integrative Bioinformatics Unit,
University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. I am also a guest researcher at
the
VU University Amsterdam.
My main research interests within Human-Computer Interaction are:
decision making support in multi-display/control room environments, computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), analysis and design of complex interactive systems,
situational awareness, and ubiquitous computing.
In 2005, I received the post-masters degree in interaction design from the
Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e), the Netherlands. Two years of the
User-System Interaction Design program gave me the great hands-on experience with User-Centered Design in very inspiring interdisciplinary environment.
I carried out my graduation project at the
User Centered Engineering Group for the
Department of Industrial Design
(
TU/e), as part of the EU-funded
CHIL project.
I worked on the
visual attention feedback service to facilitate small groups during meetings.
I also hold bachelors (2001) and masters (2003) degree in computer science from the
National University of 'Kyiv-Mohyla Academy', Ukraine. Originally I come from
Kyiv,
Ukraine. You can find more about Ukraine in
