I was born in Passo Fundo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, southernmost region of Brazil, on April 2nd 1985. I hold a BSc degree in Computer Science, from the University of Passo Fundo (UPF). After completing my bachelor studies, I moved to the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in Recife - northeast of Brazil, where I did my MSc in Computer Science and worked in the Networking and Telecommunications Research Group (GPRT). Now, I am in The Netherlands, at the University of Twente (UT), as a PhD candidate within the chair of Design and Analysis of Communication Systems (DACS). My research interests are (but not limited to): network management, protocols and architectures for the Next Generation of Networks, self-* technologies for network management, policy-based network management, autoconfiguration and autonomous networks, network addressing and routing, and networks simulation.
