Lodewijk Smit was working with the Computer Architecture, Design & Test for Embedded Systems (CADTES) group of the department of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of the University of Twente (UT) in The Netherlands. You can find my cv here. Lodewijk co-founded Recore Systems and moved to Recore Systems.

Lodewijk Smit is involved in the EU sixth framework Smart Chips for Smart Surroundings (4S) project. The goal of the 4S project is the research and demonstration of an energy-efficient SoC architecture (including tooling).

Lodewijk Smit is also involved in the Freeband Adaptive Ad-hoc Freeband (AAF) Wireless Communications project. The goal of the AAF project is the research and demonstration of a cognitive radio system, which continiously adapts it communications scheme to the available resources.

Lodewijk Smit was involved (for four years) in the Chameleon project founded by STW. The Chameleon project investigated a reconfigurable system architecture in combination with a QoS driven operating system. This combination enables an energy-efficient operation for mobile handheld devices while guaranteeing an adequate Quality of Service to the end user.

Lodewijk Smit wrote a PhD. thesis (6 MB) on the subject "Energy-Efficient Wireless Communication". Short abstract of PhD. thesis
In Dutch: De stellingen behorende bij het proefschrift en het persbericht.
