On 1 June 2010, CLAM project on Collaborative embedded networks for submarine surveillance starts. CLAM is a STREP project accepted in the FP7-ICT-2009-5 call, which aims at developing a collaborative embedded monitoring and control platform for submarine surveillance by combining cutting edge acoustic vector sensor technology, underwater wireless sensor network protocols, collaborative situation-aware reasoning and distributed signal processing techniques for horizontal and vertical linear sensor arrays.

During a full-day program, presenting research activities of the Computer Science department to high school students, Pervasive Systems group presented its research in the area of activity recognition, distributed fire detection, and collaboration between ground wireless sensor networks and autonomous helicopters.

On 1 April 2010, GENESI project on Green Sensor Networks for Structural Monitoring starts. GENESI is a STREP project accepted in the FP7-ICT-2009-5 call, which has the ambitious goal of bringing WSN technology to the level where it can provide the core of the next generation of systems for structural health monitoring that are long lasting, pervasive and totally distributed and autonomous.
