Ozlem Durmaz Incel successfully defended her PhD thesis 
On 20 March 2009, Ozlem Durmaz Incel successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled "Multi-Channel Wireless Sensor Networks: Protocols, Design and Evaluation". The research has been performed under supervision of Prof. Sape Mullender (promotor) and associate prof. Pierre Jansen (assistant-promotor)

Smart Surroundings final event was a success 
The Smart Surroundings final event took place on the 4th of March 2009 in the Atrium of SenterNovem in Den Haag. During this event, the results that the consortium has achieved in the context of Smart Surroundings, including the developments and exploitation results of the industrial partners and the spin-offs of the academic partners, have been shown. In addition, the official Smart Surroundings book was also presented.
