GENESI's first project review 
The first project review of GENESI project with the EU officer and project reviewers took place On 27th May 2011 in Rome. After discussing the project's first year results, project consortium and the reviwers paid a visit to one of GENESI's deployment sites, which is a subway tunnel under construction.

Pervasive Systems at Innoversum Innovatiecongres 
On 25th May 2011 in invited talk, Paul Havinga presented his vision on future technologies and smart cities during the Innoversum Innovatiecongres. Later on in the day, Hans Scholten gave a presentation about current initiatives related to the topic in the Netehrlands and chaired a session on challenges faced.

Organizing MobiSense Workshop in Conjunction with Mobilight 2011 Conference 
Nirvana Meratnia and Paul Havinga from PS group together with Desislava Dimitrova from University of Bern, Switzerland and Hans van den Berg from TNO in The Netherlands organized the 1st International Workshop on Opportunistic Sensing and Processing in Mobile Wireless Sensor and Cellular networks. The workshop was held in conjunction with the MobiLight 2011 Conference on 10 May.
